On November 27, Yessenov University hosted an international scientific-theoretical conference titled “Academician Rabiga Syzdyk and Her Contribution to the Global Culture of Language Communication,” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the prominent Turkologist-linguist, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, recipient of the “Barys” Orders of the 1st and 3rd degrees, member of Turk Dil Kyrymy, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philology, Professor Rabiga Satygalievna Syzdyk.
The purpose of the conference was to promote, study, and interpret the scientific legacy of Academician Rabiga Syzdyk—a unique figure, a luminary of Kazakh linguistics who continued the scholarly path of Akhmet Baitursynov, scientifically examined the literary and linguistic heritage of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi and Abai, and became one of the founders of modern Kazakh linguistics. Rabiga Syzdyk symbolized the revival of the ancient Kazakh language and, deservedly, became a mentor to the Kazakh nation.
Rabiga Syzdyk’s scientific legacy includes the supervision of 19 candidate and 11 doctoral dissertations. Her students, who were guided under her mentorship, are now respected educators and renowned scholars representing leading higher educational institutions across the country.
Throughout the conference, presentations were delivered on topics such as “Prospects for Studying the History of the Kazakh Language and the Contribution of Academician Rabiga Syzdyk,” “In-depth Research of the Scientific Legacy of Academician Rabiga Syzdyk,” and “The Work of Academician Rabiga Syzdyk, ‘Sözder Söyleydi,’” among others.
The conference was a significant event in the scientific community, paying tribute to Rabiga Syzdyk’s contributions to the development of Kazakh linguistics and global linguistics.
