Kazakhstan’s Energy and the Peaceful Atom

On September 16, Yessenov University hosted a debate tournament on the topic of “Kazakhstan’s Energy and the Peaceful Atom.”

Members of the Kemel student debate club actively participated in the event. The opening remarks were delivered by members of the People’s Headquarters for the Support of Nuclear Power Plant Construction: Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Zhaulin Kiikbai Mynbayevich, and Abzal Marat, deputy of the Mangystau regional Maslikhat.

As part of the address by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, issues of significant political importance—such as the necessity of building a nuclear power plant, which will be put to a referendum—were discussed.

Professor Kiikbai Mynbayevich also provided insights on Kazakhstan’s energy security and addressed students’ questions.
