A course on «PetDesign 5.0 – a methodology for creating online courses in the age of AI»

OnOctober13, 2025, the Institute of ContinuingEducationlaunched the advanced trainingcourse «PetDesign5.0– a methodology for creatingonlinecoursesin the era of artificialintelligence». The coursecoach is ElenaPavlovna Drugakova, a pedagogicaldesigner at the Center for the Development of EducationalResources.

The purpose of the courseis to enhance the professionalcompetence of teachers: to form a holisticunderstanding of pedagogicaldesignanditsroleincreatingonlinecourses, to teachstudents how to applymoderndigitaltoolsanddesigntechniquesusingAI, to preparefor the independentdevelopmentandlaunch of author’s onlinecoursesoneducationalplatforms.

During the training, the participants:

• They get acquainted with the principles of pedagogical design;
• They study modern tools for generating and visualizing content (including using AI);
• master the requirements of the Courseraplatform;
• design their ownonlinecourse step bystep;
• They develop skills in structuring content, writing scripts, and prompting;
• They learn how to create visual materials (presentations, icons, illustrations), including working with ReCraft;
• prepare the courseforrecordingandfurther

The course is practice-oriented and includes the following tasks:

• definition of the author ‘s coursetopic;
• designing the structureandscenario;
• preparationof the prompter ‘s textfor video lectures;
• CreatingapresentationusingAIimagegenerationtools(forexample, ReCraft);
• assemblyandfinalpreparation of the coursefor

The training takes placein an interactiveformat,with the constantsupport of a trainerand step-by-stepguidance.

PetDesign5.0givesteachersnotonlyamethodologicalbasis,butalso the confidencetocreateoriginalcoursesthatcanreachnationalandinternationalplatforms.

At the end of the course, students will present a ready-made online course project that meets the requirements of modern educational platforms and receive a certificate of advanced training.
