On October 12, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov met with students of Yessenov University.
The meeting highlighted the system of electoral bodies and the mechanisms of its formation, the process of professionalization of election commissions, the preparation and progress of the three upcoming election campaigns. Information was provided on direct elections of village mayors, deputies of maslikhats instead of the retired and akims of districts and cities of regional significance in the pilot mode.
The Chairman also noted alternative forms of voting, requirements for presidential candidates, including mandatory proficiency in the state language.
More than 70 participants of the meeting responded with interest to the online survey using a QR code and expressed their opinion on the questions asked in the questionnaire.
The level of development of civil society indicates that election campaigns are actively taking place in the country every year, and that our young people, who have just received the right to vote, are also interested in this political process.
