The purpose of the project:

The purpose conducting the study of the ecological state and dynamics of the waters of the shallow Kazakh sector of the Northern Caspian Sea in the context of a continuing drop in sea level.

Scientific novelty:

It consists in the implementation of a project to organize and conduct satellite monitoring of the vast water area of the Kazakh sector of the Northern Caspian Sea, where large-scale work is underway in the oil and gas industry, several ports are operating and a network of underwater pipelines is developed. The monitoring will be aimed at studying the drop in the level of the Caspian Sea, the drying of the coastal zone, run-up phenomena, ice cover, water dynamics and oil pollution.
