The Caspian Region at the Crossroads of Epochs and Cultures

On September 22–23, Yessenov University hosted the International Scientific and Educational Forum “The Caspian Region at the Crossroads of Epochs and Cultures: Challenges and Prospects of the Sustainable Development Paradigm.”

The forum was organized by the Institute of Economics of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan in partnership with Yessenov University, within the framework of the program “Aktau – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025” and the megagrant project “Sustainable Development of Natural, Economic, and Socio-Economic Systems of the Western Kazakhstan Region in the Context of Green Growth.”

Among the distinguished speakers were leading international and national experts:

As part of the forum, international experts conducted master classes on sustainable development, research grant preparation, and methodologies in social sciences.

The program will continue with the “Caspian Nomad” expedition, featuring field research, exploration of the Mangystau region’s tourism potential, and the development of joint initiatives for sustainable tourism.
