Awarding certificates to graduates of the Silver University

On May 29, as part of the Silver University project, a certificate awarding ceremony was held at Yessenov University for the first graduates of the integrated tourism course for training tour guides for elderly citizens.

The purpose of the course is to develop and promote tourism in the Mangystau region, focusing on its sacred sites and natural beauties.

More than 30 residents of the Mangystau region participated in this project and completed a 3-month training course for tour guides.

The first course of the Silver University follows a modular system and includes the basics of guided tours, historical and cultural attractions of Mangystau, computer literacy, and English.

Highly qualified experts, professors, and candidates of sciences shared their knowledge about the sacred sites of the region, natural wonders, unique lifestyle, and age-old traditions, as well as user aspects of language skills in modern innovative technologies.

The leading trainers taught the students about the methods of preparing and conducting excursions, creating tour routes, and compiling a guide’s portfolio. They also covered the sacred sites and ethnography of Mangystau. During the training, the students worked with handouts, discussed documentary presentations, and demonstrated their completed assignments.

As part of the course, the students went on an excursion along the route: Aktau – Kalipan – Kanga Baba – Maktym Baba – Karakoz – Sagyndyk – Akshora – Belturan – Karagashty – Ushtam – Kent Baba – Sultan Epe – Shakpak Ata – Aktau.

In the future, the Silver University plans to cooperate with the Department of Tourism of the Mangystau region to establish working relations within the framework of the memorandum.
