On November 21, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan at Yessenov University, in collaboration with the “Mother’s House” Public Foundation and the National Adoption Agency, organized a round table discussion on the topic “A Child’s Happy Place is the Family” as part of the “Serving Society” course.
The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education, A.I. Mambetova, delivered a speech highlighting the primary objectives of the event. The round table was attended by leaders and representatives from the departments of education, healthcare, social welfare, as well as guardianship and trusteeship authorities.
Participants engaged in a comprehensive discussion on family-related issues. Particular attention was given to the topic of higher education for professional foster parents, as well as the role of social work specialists. Proposals emphasized the necessity and importance of the social worker profession in the future and its role in society.
As a result of the event, detailed recommendations were presented to state authorities regarding the significance and role of the professional foster family institution.
