Yessenov University: «Green Transportation Initiatives»

Yessenov University supports the development of ecological infrastructure within the framework of the «Green Transportation Initiatives».

As part of the “Clean Kazakhstan” 2024–2029 Concept for Developing Environmental Culture, Yessenov University has launched projects aimed at promoting environmentally friendly modes of transportation.

According to Nurmukhan Askhat Kazibekuly, Head of the Aktaу City Passenger Transport and Highways Department, the Aktaу City Maslikhat resolution dated December 12, 2019, No. 29/315, established a unified public transport fare of 70 KZT, which has remained unchanged to this day. This fare is among the lowest in the country.

Contributing to the development of environmental culture, Yessenov University has initiated concrete projects to foster sustainable transportation habits among young people. In December 2024, the university constructed a 786-meter bicycle lane, along with a parking area and pedestrian paths, in the Students’ Park for the use of students and city residents.

This initiative encourages students and local youth to use public transport more often, adopt cycling and walking as everyday practices, and contributes to the creation of a greener and more comfortable urban environment in Aktau.
