On April 11, the Department of History at the Faculty of Education of Yessenov University hosted an international scientific and practical conference titled “Political Modernization and Social Development in Kazakhstan: Historical Legacy and Contemporary Realities.” The event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of prominent public figure, historian and political scientist, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, and Academician of the Academy of History and Social Sciences – Kiyikbai Mynbaiuly Zhaulin.
The conference brought together domestic scholars, public figures, university professors, doctoral candidates, graduate students, and undergraduates. The thematic focus of the event included: the political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan in the 20th century — its relevance and historical analysis; as well as historical research and political dimensions of Kazakhstan’s western regions.
The conference opened with a welcome address by Yessenov University President-Rector Berik Bakhytzhanovich Akhmetov and a congratulatory speech from Chairman of the Regional Maslikhat, Zhanbyrbai Zhanibekovich Mataev.
The conference concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Kiyikbai Mynbaiuly Zhaulin, Head of the Department of History at Yessenov University, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, and Academician of the Academy of History and Social Sciences.
