The military department of Yessenov University hosted a themed evening “Afghanistan – without the right to be forgotten” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the end of the war in Afghanistan. The purpose of the evening is to develop a sense of Kazakhstani patriotism, love for the Motherland, and broaden the horizons of young people about significant events in the history of the country. 2nd year students prepared and read patriotic poems, and also performed songs.
February 15, 1989 is the day when the last column of Soviet troops left the territory of Afghanistan, the day when the combat losses of Soviet soldiers stopped, the day the ten-year Afghan war ended.
