Yessenov University hosted a two-day international event — the Green Hydrogen Hackathon Central Asia. The hackathon was aimed at fostering innovation in low-carbon energy and supporting the potential of young researchers.
As part of the program, participants worked on актуальные задачи related to hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and its integration into energy systems. Particular attention was given to the decarbonization of the economy and the implementation of environmentally sustainable technologies.
The hackathon brought together 3 teams from Azerbaijan, 1 team from Uzbekistan, as well as teams from Astana and Atyrau. On the first day, international experts delivered lectures, followed by the distribution of hackathon tasks in the afternoon. Participants worked on their projects throughout the day. On the second day, teams presented their solutions, and the winner was selected.
The winning team was NYCAENGINEERS from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. As a result of the hackathon, the team was awarded a fully funded five-day internship in the field of green hydrogen at leading universities and research centers in Germany.
