On April 27, 2026, the annual integrated tourism course for training tour guides for senior citizens officially launched at the Institute of Continuing Education as part of the “Silver University” project, in a bright and inspiring atmosphere.

The project aims to develop and promote the tourism potential of the Mangystau Region — a unique area rich in sacred sites, spiritual landmarks, and breathtaking natural landscapes.

It should be noted that the first intake of the “Silver University” program was launched in February 2024. Since then, more than 60 participants have not only gained new knowledge but also discovered opportunities for personal growth and self-realization.

The training is organized using a modern modular system and covers key areas: the fundamentals of tour guiding, the study of Mangystau’s historical and cultural heritage, computer literacy, and English language skills.

Classes are conducted by highly qualified instructors — professors, candidates of sciences, and experienced practitioners. They introduce participants to the region’s sacred sites, natural wonders, unique culture, and centuries-old traditions, while also teaching how to apply modern digital and language skills in professional practice.

During the first sessions, leading trainers provided detailed insights into the methodology of preparing and conducting excursions, developing tour routes, and creating a tour guide portfolio. Special attention was given to the sacred geography and ethnography of Mangystau. The learning process is interactive: participants work with handout materials, analyze documentary presentations, and present their own practical assignments.

The course program will later be enriched with a field excursion across the Mangystau region, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in practice.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive certificates, opening new horizons for an active and fulfilling life.
