On February 5, the Faculty of Law and International Relations at Yessenov University hosted a roundtable titled “Analysis and Discussion of Amendments to the New Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” The event was organized to provide a comprehensive explanation of the constitutional reforms, clarify the legal foundations of the amendments, and examine them from both academic and practical perspectives.
The roundtable brought together faculty members, legal scholars from the Department of Jurisprudence, and students of the Faculty of Law and International Relations.
The session was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty, Dina Bugybay, who in her opening remarks emphasized the strategic importance of the constitutional amendments for advancing the country’s legal system. She also highlighted the value of such academic and educational platforms in broadening the professional outlook of future lawyers and fostering a strong legal culture.
The main speakers were legal scholars from the Department of Jurisprudence, Serikkali Kuntebayuly Alibekov and Bagdat Tilekteskyzy Auesheva. In their presentations, they examined in detail the rationale and significance of the amendments to the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, outlined the substance of the new constitutional provisions, and analyzed their impact on legal practice using concrete examples.
The roundtable concluded with the recognition that the event provided a productive platform for gaining a deeper understanding of current developments in constitutional law, shaping the professional perspectives of future lawyers, and strengthening their analytical skills.
