Two new Master’s degree educational programs — “Renewable Energy Systems” and “Management in Logistics” — have been launched at Yessenov University within the framework of the international project AKTANTEN in Aktau, according to the Public Communication Center.
The new programs aim to strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany in higher education, science, and technology, as well as to train internationally competitive specialists for energy transformation and modern logistics.
The event was attended by the leadership of Yessenov University, professors and representatives of partner universities from Germany, state authorities, industrial enterprises, international organizations, as well as faculty members and students.
During the official ceremony, the new educational programs were presented, and key topics such as developing academic partnerships between Kazakhstani and German universities, expanding academic mobility, and implementing joint scientific and educational projects were discussed.
The “Renewable Energy Systems” program was developed through a partnership between Yessenov University and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. It covers renewable energy sources, solar and wind energy, green hydrogen and fuel cells, energy storage systems, Smart Grid technologies, digital modeling, energy efficiency, and sustainable energy systems.
Meanwhile, the “Management in Logistics” program is implemented jointly with Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau, focusing on transport and logistics systems management, supply chains, sustainable logistics, digitalization, and international transportation.
“Two new educational programs were developed under this project. Currently, they have been successfully launched, and Master’s students are already pursuing their studies in energy and logistics. As you know, these sectors hold strategic importance for the Mangystau region. Students will travel to Germany for practical experience and attend lectures by leading professors. We believe they will return and contribute to the growth of the region’s energy and logistics sectors. Presently, in collaboration with a partner university in Almaty, our students are attending lectures delivered by qualified German professors.”

The programs are launched under the international project AKTANTEN, supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The project aims to establish sustainable academic partnerships between Kazakhstani and German universities, internationalize educational curricula, and enhance academic mobility for students and faculty.
A key highlight of the new programs is the opportunity for Master’s students to gain insights into the academic experience of German partner universities, learn from international professors, and participate in scientific and applied research projects.
According to the university management, this initiative will boost the preparation of a new generation of specialists in renewable energy and logistics for the Mangystau region, while reinforcing Aktau’s position as an international hub for education and scientific collaboration.
