Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yesenov, KUTI, also known as Yessenov University, Yessenov University) is a multi-disciplinary higher education institution of Kazakhstan. The faculties of Yessenov University are located in three campus buildings. The structure of the university includes educational and laboratory buildings, a sports complex, four student dormitories, educational and industrial facilities, catering and medical service facilities, assembly halls and conference halls, libraries and study halls.
It locates the following Faculties: Business and Law, Science and Technology, Tourism and Languages, Education and Maritime Academy.
It consists of six pavilions, the numbering of the building’s lecture rooms and classrooms consists of one letter and four signs: the letter is the sign of the pavilion; first and second number — floor number; the third and fourth digits are the numbers of the lecture hall and classrooms. For medical care of students at the university we have a medical room in the main campus, equipped in accordance with the requirements of sanitary norms. In addition, the university gets the contracted full-medical services from the City Polyclinic “Akerke”.
Types of services provided there: provision of first aid to students; referral to medical center for medical care; organization of preventive medical examinations of students; control over the students registered for dispensary services; carrying out anti-epidemic measures when infectious diseases are detected; dynamic observation of persons in contact with those who have had infectious diseases; promotion of healthy lifestyles, sanitary and hygienic education, sanitary and educational work.
VGL Patrol is a security monitoring system.
Based on Macroscope software ensuring the safety of students about 250 cameras were installed to improve the efficiency of all services of the educational institution. Turnstiles prevent the passage of an outsider, and also allow monitoring the time of work and attendance of employees and students. A fire alarm service is installed in the university building. Armed security forces are set to arrive in 5-6 minutes in the event of a terrorist or other dangerous situation.
The total area of the Yesenov greenhouse is 1690 m2.Yesenov University Greenhouse is an experimental site for educational programs 6B01505-Biology, 7M01505-Biology, 7M01505-Biology of the “Natural Sciences” department of the “Science and Technologies” faculty.
In the greenhouse, practical lessons on botany, biology teaching methodology, plant physiology and biochemistry, methodological bases of field research in biology, training and practical work at the school experimental site, and school biological experiments are conducted. It produces 4 times per year. Productivity is up to 10 kg per bush (cucumber, tomato, sweet pepper), herbs, lettuce, spinach – from 1 square meter to 1.5 kg. The profitability of the greenhouse reaches 100%. The greenhouse is drip-irrigated, top-fed, and fertilized.
Yessenov University possesses a number of new infrastructure which requires a big proportion of water for its construction. Thus, the University leadership tends to use water with the economy. Hence, it has its water recycling program on the campus. It has a project to develop a water recycling process. The University is striving to treat water use with minimum waste. Recycled campus water is usually used for irrigation and construction purposes such as avoiding drought on the planned design of a newly built campus area.
Yessenov University has a system for treated water which is typically sourced from the Caspian sea and it is subjected to various treatment methods to remove impurities and contaminants. Because the University uses the water from the central water supply. The University uses filters for the water coming from taps. It should undergo double-filtering progress before being used for drinking, cooking and even for irrigation.
Yessenov University has implemented the use of energy-saving technologies as a part of increasing the energy efficiency of the institution, which allows to significantly reduce the costs of utility payments, as well as to effectively manage the property complex, one of the main costs of educational activities.
At the university, the main potential for saving electricity was identified when switching from conventional incandescent and fluorescent lamps to LEDs with efficient discharge lamps.
The university has installed 13 automated systems of control and accounting of electricity.

With YU ID, users can easily access all available university services, such as email, Canvas LMS, Univer and more. An important advantage of YU ID is the ability to view a list of all services that can be used by students and employees. This gives users full control over their accounts and facilitates the process of working with university services.
Yessenov University has a website intended for students who want to engage in sports or creativity and choose a section according to the schedule. The website has a schedule of all available sections indicating class times and locations.Students can choose a day and time that suits them and see what sections are available at that time. They can also learn about the trainers and a description of each section. The site provides free registration for the section chosen by the student. The site has a convenient and intuitive interface that allows students to quickly and easily find the necessary information and register for the section. It also ensures the confidentiality of personal information.
At Yessenov University Students do not have to use campus shuttles, because there are a lot of parking spaces for both driving and biking students. Campus shuttles (3 campus buses) can provide an added measure of safety for students who participate in social activities that take place outside of normal school hours and off campus. To ensure students get from point A to point B as safely as possible, running the campus shuttle to accommodate non-academic activities can prevent students from being put in unsafe situations.
Overall, 15% of the total area is allocated to parking. As the city of Aktau is a compact one, Yessenov University is the only university located in the city. Most students and staff use their own cars, city buses, motorcycles or scooters. Most students live in the dormitories so that they do not have to use any transport.

Yessenov University has core principles of sustainable waste management and environmental conservation. Thus, YU encourages its students and staff to use products with minimal packaging. Additionally, it organizes a company among its staff and students to organize an action on “Donating or selling items you no longer need” sharing items to prevent them from becoming waste. In order to accomplish it, YU collaborates with Aktau City Department of Employment and Social Programs which has a reception and delivery point for used items, shoes, dishes, bags and children’s toys
Moreover, Yessenov University uses a recycling company, a local Aktau Eco Waste, which has implemented a Recycling system, allowing students and faculty to easily determine what they can and cannot recycle. This waste program for a university is an excellent way to promote sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of the campus.
Yessenov University promotes actions in minimizing environmental impact from the use of paper and plastic. Both paper and plastic production have significant environmental consequences, from resource extraction and manufacturing to waste disposal.Yessenov University has a responsible attitude for collecting lab chemicals and electronics. It has a department of chemical waste from the oil industry, so it is a regular process to collect lab chemicals remaining after some certain experiments.

Yessenov University promotes organic waste treatment by distinguishing types of waste into special containers. One of them is designed for “bread” and “food waste” to get recycled for cattle and domestic animals food supply.
Monthly Sembilik: this program starts with the collaboration between the University and EcoMangystau, has the aim to raise users and citizen awareness on waste collection and recycling.

Yessenov University has a reliable sewage disposal system to ensure water supply. It has a sustainable septic system which involves proper installation and maintenance to prevent leaks and contamination of groundwater. There are set standards for treatment, disposal and responsible use of water resources. Sustainable sewage disposal systems aim to minimize environmental impact and conserve water resources, protect public health as well.
