On December 2, Yessenov University hosted the opening ceremony of three major new facilities for the region as part of the “Yessenov Forum: Sustainable Meanings”: the Yessenov Technopark complex, a youth park, and a new football stadium. The event marked an important milestone in the university’s broader strategy to create an integrated environment where education, technology, entrepreneurship, recreation, and community life can develop together.
The ceremony brought together a distinguished group of participants, including Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Nurdaulet Kilybai, Akim of the Mangystau Region; Yedil Zhanbyrshin, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan; as well as university rectors from across the country, leaders of major enterprises, members of parliament, and representatives of the public. Their participation underscored the national and regional significance of the new facilities and highlighted the growing role of Yessenov University as a center for innovation, education, and social development.
A central part of the event was the opening of Yessenov Technopark, which has been designed as a unique platform for entrepreneurs, university and college students, and school pupils. The technopark is intended to help participants turn ideas into real projects, develop startups, and gain practical professional skills in both advanced technologies and applied trades. The modern two-story building, with a total area of 2,000 square meters, reflects a comprehensive approach to future-oriented education. On the first floor, the technopark houses workshops dedicated to robotics, digital fabrication, metalworking, and woodworking, creating a strong foundation for hands-on engineering and production skills. On the second floor, the focus shifts to the technologies shaping the future economy, including artificial intelligence, game development, blockchain, cryptocurrency, mobile application development, and cybersecurity. The program is being implemented under the guidance of Nicolas Sadirac, the internationally renowned French expert specially invited to the Yessenov Forum, whose involvement gives the initiative a strong international dimension and connects it with global trends in digital and technological education.
Forum participants also took part in the opening of the new youth park, which was conceived as an open public space for relaxation, creativity, and community engagement. During the ceremony, guests planted trees on the park grounds, symbolically contributing to the creation of a greener and more welcoming urban environment. The park is designed to serve as a place where young people can spend time outdoors, while also hosting musical, cultural, and entertainment events. Its infrastructure includes an amphitheater, a fountain, and a 50-seat café, making it both a recreational and social venue. A total of 3,000 trees have been planted in the area, reinforcing the project’s environmental and civic value. Importantly, the park is open not only to students but to all residents of the city, emphasizing the university’s role as a public institution that contributes to the broader well-being of the region.
Another major highlight of the day was the opening of the new stadium, located on the university campus. Covering an area of 7,000 square meters, the stadium creates new opportunities for promoting a healthy lifestyle, expanding student sports, and hosting athletic events. It is equipped to host regional-level competitions in football and track and field, thereby strengthening the university’s sports infrastructure and its ability to support both student and public sporting activities. Following the official opening ceremony, the stadium hosted a friendly match between the teams of Yessenov University and Atyrau University, adding a celebratory and community-oriented dimension to the event.
Taken together, the opening of these three facilities reflects a broader vision of development in which a modern university serves not only as a place of academic learning, but also as a driver of innovation, entrepreneurship, technical skills training, youth engagement, public space development, and healthy living. Through the launch of the technopark, youth park, and stadium, Yessenov University has strengthened its position as an important educational and social hub for the Mangystau region and as a university actively investing in the future of its students, its community, and the wider region.
