From December 19 to 23, Yessenov University hosted a Foresight forecasting session within the framework of the foresight school under the targeted funding program “Development of Atlases of new professions and competencies of the regions of Kazakhstan based on the Skills Technology Foresight method”.
The training was conducted by leading international specialists: Dmitry Sudakov, an expert in education, Evgeny Vinogradov, a forecasting expert on workforce needs, Daria Varlamova, the chief collector of the Atlas of New Professions project, and Daniil Zasypkin, a knowledge management specialist.
Participating in the program were representatives of universities in Western Kazakhstan: Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov, Zhangir khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian Technical University, Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov, and Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after S. Utebayev.
The foresight school program involved working with the image of the future from the positions of moderator and collector, completing work tasks, and engaging in practical exercises.
Throughout the event, experts and participants analyzed trends, created future maps affecting the industry within the specified time period, identified a list of important work tasks and competency gaps, and developed project proposals to enhance the training of professional personnel.
The foresight session of the Atlas of New Professions and Competencies marks a significant step towards improving Kazakhstan’s higher education system to meet the requirements and needs of society in the modern world.
