Accelerating ICT students’ startup development competence via interdisciplinary modular courses in the HEI curricula (UXiship)

Project goals:

  • Improving engineering curricula at partner universities in Kazakhstan and Russia by introducing an entrepreneurship module based on ICT competencies.
  • launching an IT Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program to develop soft skills in engineering curricula by combining the efforts of partner universities in collaborative learning, assessment and feedback.
  • Updating engineering education to EU standards in accordance with the Bologna process through the introduction of joint educational courses recognized by a consortium of partner universities.
  • Promoting a bottom-up approach to international cooperation within the knowledge triangle, thereby increasing the level and structure of hard and entrepreneurial soft ICT skills acquired by engineering university students.

Launching an IT Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program to develop interpersonal skills in engineering curricula by combining partner university capabilities in collaborative learning, assessment and feedback

Upgrading engineering education to EU standards in line with the Bologna process through the introduction of joint university courses recognized by a consortium of partner universities

 

Improvement of engineering programs in Kazakhstan and Russia at partner universities through the introduction of an entrepreneurship module based on ICT

 

Promoting bottom-up international cooperation within the knowledge triangle, thus improving the level and structure of hard and entrepreneurial ICT skills acquired by students of technical universities

The duration of the project is 48 months (extended for a year due to the pandemic), and a large number of events and workshops are expected between participants to exchange experiences and develop an ICT entrepreneurship program.

  • March 31, 2021- online lecture “Introduction to entrepreneurship: specifications for it branch” (Riga)

  • 06.09.2021- Lecture “Idea and choice of startups”, founder of the IT company “Mediana Services Limited”, head of the Startup Acceleration Center MSA Kurbanbayev Omirbek;

  • 09/28/2021 -Lecture “comfortable and safe urban environment”, Deputy Akim of Aktau Gusman Serik;

  • 12.10.2021 -Lecture “canvas business model”, entrepreneur, business coach Arman Akberdiev.

  • 13.10.2021 – mentoring lecture-training for students with the business coach of NCE Atamaken Marzhan Naizabekovna;

  • 13.10.2021-guest lecture for students of the entrepreneurship course with the head of the Department of Trade and Entrepreneurship in the Mangystau region Zh. Tokbaeva;

  • 22.10.2021-business breakfast with the heads of local authorities, as well as entrepreneurs of Aktau in order to develop youth entrepreneurship. Possible options for students to complete the practical and research part of startup projects within the framework of studying the discipline “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship” during a Business breakfast;

  • 23.10.2021 -at Bath Spa University, Dr. Sheku Fofanah, Professor of Business and Management, guest lecture “design thinking for the enterprise” ;

  • November 2-4-intensive seminar on entrepreneurship education organized by the US Embassy in Kazakhstan and representatives of the University of Iowa (USA) (Entrepreneurial Education Workshop);

  • 03.11.2021-mentoring lecture by the speaker-Roman Gurbanov, owner of qiber Group: IT, media, education. Students developing Startup projects receive expert analysis of their IT projects from the speaker;

  • 18.11.2021 -Meeting with North Caspian Operating Company. Student teams consisting of senior students of the Department of Informatics present their projects, demonstrating the innovative potential of students who are ready to introduce and master innovations, as well as generate their creative ideas, develop and promote their projects;

  • October-November 2021 – field research and training of existing business enterprises, factories of the city and the region for students participating in Startup Marathon business projects, speakers-employees of large and medium-sized businesses of the Mangystau region;

  • In October-November 2021, for the participants of the Startup Marathon business projects, employees of large and medium-sized businesses of the Mangystau region conducted field studies and trainings on existing business enterprises, factories and the region;

  • On February 7, 2022, the training for students “School of a young entrepreneur” will start. Intensive (acceleration program) is designed for 5 days, speakers will be teaching staff trained on the basis of NCE Atameken;

  • In February 2022, a meeting of universities participating in the startup movement of Russia, China, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan took place at the Boiling Point site – Tyumen (Russia);
